Resting Place of Honor

Often in scripture folks would stand a stone where God had already revealed himself once before. Jacob took a stone and placed his head ( mindset) upon it and rested. As he dreamed the heavens were opened and he was granted access into promises and generations. Where is Lord calling you to rest upon the presence of the past?

I believe its time for the bride to begin to find rest in where others have experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit. Even Jacob as he awoke came to the realization that the Spirit of the Lord YHWH had been in that place all along and he was not even aware.

Men and women its time to honor where those whom have come before you have experienced YHWH. Come to this place and rest, not perform. As you rest where they have walked you too will gain a perspective of the heavens being opened. Stop taking a stand where the Spirit of the Lord is calling you to lay it all down.

It was in the place of rest that the Lord revealed to Jacob the gates of heaven. He was resting upon the rock, resting on testimony, resting on presence. You see these rocks were placed as a testimony of honoring the past.

And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18

Today I feel that if we would rest upon the rock we will gain the revelation that the gates of hell in our lives will not prevail. This is why it is crucial that you sand your own stones. Leaving markers of the Maker for those whom shall come after you will provide a place for the weary ones in the wilderness. This is why honor is an open door. Honor is a resting place.

My pastor Mattie Montgomery at The Altar Fellowship tells us often at mens prayer each week that WE LOSE WHAT WE FAIL TO HONOR. When we fail to honor often we embrace arrogance without even suspecting it. Over time this arrogance or even self reliance or doing things " our way" or " its how its always been done" in the vein of tradition we harden our hearts.

This place of tradition devoid of honor becomes a place where we take offense. This place becomes a wedge between denominations and instead of stepping into the calling of the saints we separate and go into hiding. Churches then become warehouses instead of manufacturing facilities.

So my question for THE CHURCH & THE BRIDE is this...

Do you honor? Are you sending? Are you seeing His Kingdom coming or isolating? Do you feel rested? Are you offended?

The Holy Spirit quotes himself in Hebrews 3 from Psalm 95. 7 So, as the Holy Spirit says:

“Today, if you hear his voice, 8 do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness, 9 where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw what I did. 10 That is why I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.’ 11 So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ”

Honor tradition, lay down offense. Find rest upon the rock. See heaven open. Take claim of promise and protection. Be restored. Find your hope resting upon the places of past presence to see the promises of tomorrow.
